Ecstasy Abuse: 12 Years of Study by a Rehab & Detox Narconon Professional
What Is Ecstasy Drug?
Is Ecstasy, MDMA, toxic? Does it create brain damage? What environmental damage is created by ecstasy drug labs?
We’ll discuss these questions in this article on ecstasy abuse.
Ecstasy or MDMA is also known as Adam, Eve, X, love drug, XTC. Ecstasy is classified as one of the club drugs. One reason for classifying ecstasy as a club drug is that the drug was first sold in a Texas club by a person who manufactured it for sale to club patrons. Today ecstasy the drug, is being used in the club and rave scene all across North America.
Manufacturing of ecstasy in clandestine labs in BC Canada is being driven by independent and larger criminal organizations. RCMP report tens of thousands of ecstasy tablets produced and distributed in BC for shipment across Canada and into the United States.
Ecstasy production can create toxic contamination of the area. People exposed to manufacturing, distributing, living nearby and using the drug ecstasy are effected by toxic exposures. Ecstasy detox for people can help recovery significantly. Detoxing the land and production area of an ecstasy lab can cost $10,000s and make the area un-inhabitable.
What Does The Ecstasy Drug Do?
MDMA or ecstasy forces nerve cells to release the majority or all of the serotonin stored in their cells. This abnormal release of serotonin has many damaging and undesirable consequences to the surrounding nerve cells and ultimately to the persons well-being.
Ecstasy Drug Artificially Imbalances Chemical Levels in the Brain and Body
A dangerous consequence of taking ecstasy is that the forced release of serotonin, the neuro-transmitter that elevates body temperature, is released and forced out of normal healthy cells. This artificial and damaging release of serotonin into the cells’ synapses depletes the bodies supply of serotonin and triggers messages in the nerves and brain to stop producing serotonin in the future. When too much serotonin is released into the nerve synapses natural body systems are triggered to reduce production of serotonin receptors and even to reduce serotonin production.
To understand why the drug ecstasy is dangerous one needs to understand that the body and brain are already perfectly functioning organisms which have evolved to survive effectively in changing environments. When people do drugs, the body responds by either developing a tolerance for the drug or eliminating or reducing abnormal amounts of chemicals or hormones that the drug artificially forced out of the body cells or organs.
Toxic Overload Caused By MDMA Use
I’ve interviewed younger people who regularly use the drug ecstasy. One of their major complaints was a fear that they could not regain or gain back their ability to feel well.
One man in his 20s had stopped using the drug ecstasy for several months. To me he looked lifeless and seemed very dull to any sensation or experience in his life. He looked at me quite blankly and asked, “Can I get back? I can’t feel how I used to feel before I started taking ecstasy and while I was taking ecstasy. Will ever get it back?” Ecstasy is toxic, it extolls huge costs.
The Costs of Ecstasy Drug Use
The costs of the drug ecstasy are far greater than the $10 $15 or $20 price tag per pill a drug dealer will charge to sell it for. The body has a natural reward system that is perfectly balanced and will produce the ultimate levels of happiness pleasure and satisfaction through living a natural life.
The person is hardwired to be encouraged and rewarded when seeking and achieving the greatest & highest levels of survival for itself and along its symbiotic relationships. We are naturally rewarded for right living right thinking and that means successful beneficial activities and behaviors are rewarded with the highest well with the highest levels of well-being and satisfaction.
Drugs Mess Up Your Entire Natural System
Drugs can forever damage a person’s life by artificially hijacking the bodies reward and pain centers. Drugs like MDMA or Ecstasy unnaturally force cells to deplete their entire reserves of serotonin by dumping it into the synapses. Artificial stimulation by MDMA can be damaging to the cells, organs and tax the entire body.
People die due to toxic ecstasy drug exposure. That means even pure ecstasy drugs are toxic in different amounts, depending on the person taking it. Mixing ecstasy with other drugs, cutting agents, toxic materials etc make the drug even more dangerous.
Ecstasy and Amphetamines in the Brain
While I was visiting the Museum of Science in Boston in the summer of 2003 I attended a lecture by Dr. Marc Kaufman of McLean Hospital, a branch of Harvard medical college. Dr. Kaufman and his associates have been studying the effects of amphetamines and cocaine on the brain using magnetic resonance and pet scans to determine changes in blood flow to different areas of the brain when drugs were taken.
Stimulants Tend to Constrict Capillaries in Brain
Dr. Kaufman discovered that the smallest blood vessels stories supplying oxygen and nutrients to cells and taking away waste products from the cells would constrict and choke off blood supply to vital areas of the brain when cocaine was used. Nerve cells and other living cells in the body cannot survive long without a steady supply of oxygen and nutrients. Regularly choking off oxygen and nutrient supply to these cells probably explain why scans of the brain of people who take ecstasy show large sections of inactivity in many brain centers.
Drug Users Don’t or Can’t Connect the Dots
Drugs dull and cloud perception. Drugs like ecstasy can also induce hallucinations where a person believes she’s doing great when in fact the are ill, sick, depressed. Reality shows up within a day of taking the drug ecstasy and reality may be a cloudy mess for an ecstasy pill user.
X and Brain Damage
The brain does not feel pain. Most people know that brain operations are done without anesthetic. That is because the brain does not feel pain. Non-recognition of reduced cognitive ability, mental impairment or cognitive dysfunction or getting stupider when taking drugs, is not just temporary.
Mental deficits can be created by taking drugs like ecstasy, marijuana, cocaine or any illicit drug. The individual unfortunately, only experiences mental impairment after a significant deterioration of mental ability has come about. This is because the brain is wired somewhat like the Internet. If one pathway is blocked other pathways will be used.
Therefore a person could experience or rather suffer 70% brain or mental impairment, brain damage, without feeling or recognizing it. Some research I’ve read indicates that up to 80% of mental damage can occur before the individual notices damage in some cases.
Lack of personal recognition of brain damage doesn’t mean that just because the person does not feel or notice damage to the brain, that it does not or did not occur. It means the person simply was not capable of experiencing the damage that was being done right under their very eyes.
Promotion of Ecstasy / MDMA: Marketing Brain Damage
I’ve yet to meet a good drug dealer. Drug dealers and the drugs that they sell you will cost you more than the money you pay for them.
Because drugs are essentially poisons and toxic in varying amounts, when drugs are in the body they can burn up or use up minerals and nutrients from surrounding cells, organs, bones, nerves etc. Several things occur in a person’s body when drugs like X are taken. Ecstasy essentially hijacks the body and unnaturally force nerve cells to use up neurotransmitters and / or mimic hormones, etc. Drugs burn up minerals, nutrients, vitamins which would otherwise go to the production development, repair, and growth of living tissue. Drugs even prevent nutrients from being used.
When essential nutrients, minerals & vitamins are not available for use when a person does drugs, the body will steal these nutrients and proteins out of living surrounding cells and tissues. Drug use tends to weaken the entire body and can lead to a irreversible damages.
The Cost of Ecstasy Use
Heart attacks, strokes, organ breakdowns, glandular dysfunction, etc. can all be related back to earlier drug abuse. Drug abuse or the illicit use of drugs can and often does cost much much more than the initial financial burden imposed or imposes on the buyer and their direct families.
One of the ways to create a healthier and happier society is to demand of yourself and others to lay off the drugs. Where healthcare has been socialized such as in Canada, some of the United States, European countries, Australia and New Zealand etc. it is well within your right to demand of others to not take drugs for illicit uses.
